Our Lady, the Undoer of Knots is one of the titles that the faithful gave to the Virgin Mary with all faith and affection. It originated in Germany, around the year 1700. The creation of Our Lady's name was the phrase of Saint Irenaeus, bishop of Lyon, in the 3rd century: "Eve tied the knot of misfortune for the human race; Mary, through her obedience, untied it". The image of the Saint has two angels, one on each side, holding the rope of the knots that Our Lady is untying.
